SWITCH OFF AND CREATE
Do you feel like getting your hands dirty with clay, engaging your creativity, and slowing down for a while? Come and relax in our pottery workshop in a family house in Hostivice, near Prague.
The course is conducted in a small group of 4–6 people to allow for individual attention and a calm atmosphere. It is suitable for complete beginners – we will explain everything from the basics.
Over 6 lessons, you will gradually master hand-building techniques – from working with slabs and coils, through building volume, to decoration and final glazing. The lessons are thematically divided to build upon each other and help you understand working with clay from the first touch to the finished product.
However, we are not strictly bound by the plan – if you have your own idea or inspiration, we will be happy to adapt, and you can create according to your own vision.
We also have a potter's wheel in the workshop. Since there is only one, it is not the main part of the course, but if there is interest and time, it is possible to try throwing.
The goal of the course is not perfection, but the joy of the process, understanding the material, and the feeling of having created something with your own hands.
ORGANISATIONAL INFO & PRICE
Lesson duration: 2 hours
Number of lessons: 6
Price: 250 CZK / hour
Price per lesson: 500 CZK
Full course (6 lessons): 3,000 CZK
Payment is always made after the completed lesson; no upfront payment is required.
Course capacity: 4–6 people (the course opens with a minimum of 4 participants).
Dates: approximately from March 13 to April 17, 2026, by arrangement
1 group available on Thursday, 1/2 group on Friday
Thursday only 6:00 PM–8:00 PM
Friday 5:00 PM–7:00 PM or 6:00 PM–8:00 PM or 7:00 PM–9:00 PM
I am available in the workshop all day on Friday, so if a group of at least four people agrees, it is possible to open at a different time according to your preferences, even in the morning. The offered times are just suggestions :)
What's included:
– all materials (clay)
– glazes and decor
– firings in the ceramic kiln
– tool rental
– aprons available; just come in comfortable clothes suitable for crafting.

Good accessibility by train/bus from Prague.
After completing 6 lessons, it is possible to end the course or continue with follow-up lessons by arrangement.
