ABOUT ME
My name is Barbora Procházková, and it wasn't that long ago that I decided to get my hands a little dirty with clay. I strive to design and create unique products that become part of your everyday life. I hope they awaken in you a sense of how important it is to carefully consider the objects that surround us in our lives. Everyone surely knows that feeling when you can have coffee or tea in your favorite mug, which no other can replace. I firmly believe that one of my pieces will bring you exactly this joy and will serve you as best as it can.
So far, I'm experimenting with various clay working techniques, but I've been most drawn to the hand-building technique. That's why on my e-shop you'll find mugs and cups that are handmade, mostly molded over a form. Even though I try for serial production of some pieces, sometimes it doesn't quite work out, and each piece then becomes an original.
VISION
My products are created slowly and carefully in our small workshop in Hostivice, which I share with my mum. Here, they are also fired at high temperatures in an electric kiln, and stoneware is our main material. Thanks to the high firing, high-quality ceramics resistant to external influences and chipping are created. Thanks to the high firing, the ceramics can go into the dishwasher or microwave. If the ceramics have patterns or drawings on them, they are hidden under a transparent glaze, and therefore cannot be scratched or washed off. All color combinations and clay are certified, meaning they are safe to use and harmless to health.
I believe in handmade, well-made, and slowly crafted products that bring joy. And since I am still a university student, I dedicate myself to ceramic production in my free time.
